The Central Christian College of Kansas men's and women's golf teams received good news Tuesday night, as the NCCAA announced the teams for the 2018 Golf National Championship. The Tigers have received an at-large bid to go and compete for the National Championship.
"The NCCAA will conduct a Christian Service Project in partnership with Samaritan's Feet and Rymsfire Boys & Girls Club on Sunday, October 21. All championship participants will serve over 120 local underprivileged children by washing their feet and providing new socks and shoes. Championship action will begin with the first round on Monday, October 22. The second round will be on Tuesday, October 23, followed by the third and final round on Wednesday, October 24. (from the NCCAA)" The tournament will be held in Palm Coast, Florida, at the Hammock Beach Resort's Conservatory Course. For the women's side, nine teams will compete for the title on all three days. Meanwhile, the men's side will have twelve teams competing in the first two rounds, then the field will be cut down to the top nine teams for the third and final round.
Coach Kyle Moody was very happy when he heard the news. "I just want to say how proud I am of everyone in our program this year! They have all worked hard to achieve this goal. We thank God for this opportunity and the talents he has given our players."
The Tiger golf teams still have tournaments to play before they can take their road trip down to Florida. The men and women will compete next week (October 8-9) at the Dornick Hills Invitational hosted by Southwestern Christian University. Then the week after that (October 15-16), the men will play in the Tabor College Fall Invitational.
