Box Score 4 Marshall, Texas – The Central Christian College baseball team was back in action this past weekend with a four game series on the road against Wiley College. The Tigers split the four games, winning games 2 and 4, moving their overall record to 2-6 on the season.
Game 1, L 7-2
The Tigers dropped the series opener 7-2, scoring a single run in the third and seventh innings. The Tigers struggled defensively, recording 4 errors in the game leading to 4 unearned runs for the Wildcats.
Hitting: The Tigers managed to record 8 hits in game one, but were unable to get that key hit with runners in scoring position. Seven of the eight Tiger hits were singles, the lone exception was a double from Noah Aquino
Pitching: Two Tiger pitchers saw action in game one.
Tristan Castner got the start and was collared with the loss. He gave the Tigers five innings, allowing seven runs on 10 hits with four strikeouts and one walk.
Elliot Castorena came on in relief in the sixth inning. He held the Wildcats hitless and scoreless while recording one strikeout.

Game 2, W, 12-1
The Tigers continued to swing the bats well in game two, and this time getting key hits with runners on base. They trailed 1-0 after the first inning, but then tied it up in the top of the third. They took the lead with three runs in the top of the fifth then put the game away with an eight spot in the top of the seventh.
Hitting: The Tigers scored their 12 runs on nine hits. The Tigers did their damage with eight singles and a double by
Carlos Gusman.
Pitching: Michael Pelosi got the start in game two, pitching a six inning gem to earn the Tigers' first win of the season. He allowed just one run on one hit, fanned nine and walked three.
Ryan McFarland came on in the seventh inning to mop things up, striking out two of the five batters he faced.

Game 3, L, 4-0
The two teams resumed the series on Saturday with the Wildcats stealing the opening game 4-0, thanks to multiple miscues by the Tiger defense.
Hitting: Hitting stats were unavailable from the Wildcat Sports Information Department.
Pitching: Levi Atherton was the starter in game three, and according to the Tiger coaching staff he threw a gem. Unfortunately he got no run support from his offense, and the defense behind him didn't hold up, and he was given the loss.

Game 4, W, 17-7
The Tigers wrapped up the series with an offensive explosion, scoring 17 runs on 11 hits.
Hitting: According to the stats (which were not real reliable on Saturday), the Tigers had nine singles, a double by
Cam Whittle, and the first home run of the season off the bat of JT
Taylor.
Pitching: Brandon Vegas was the game four starter for the Tigers and was credited with the win. Vegas worked the first five innings, allowing four runs on three hits with eight strikeouts and just one walk. Hunter Bennet came out of the pen working the final two innings. He gave up three runs on three hits with a trio of K's and two free passes.
