McPherson, Kan. - Three Tiger Baseball players have earned NCCAA All-Region honors after their performances this season.
Kurt Ippolito was named to the 1st team after batting .368 with 13 doubles, 13 homeruns and 57 RBI's and 19 stolen bases. Ippolito continued where he left off from his dominant campaign last season and established himself as one of the top contributors of this Tiger offense.
Nick Julian earned 2nd team honors after going 6-4 in 18 appearances with a 4.42 ERA. Julian also tallied 109 strikeouts across 95.2 innings pitched and kept hitters off balance all season. As the ace of the Tiger rotation, Julian consistently delivered when the Tigers needed it and was always there to encourage his teammates.
The second Tiger arm to join Julian was
Justin Evasovic. Evasovic emerged as a go-to arm for the Tigers this year as they shuffled around their rotation after a few injuries. Justin earned 3rd team honors after going 6-6 across 14 appearances and posting a 4.43 ERA with 80 strikeouts across 83.1 innings pitched.
The Tigers went 21-25 overall this year with a 15-12 conference record that saw them finish tied for 3rd in the Sooner Athletic Conference, their highest finish since joining the SAC. With that, the Tigers competed in the SAC Tournament for the first time as well.
