Coach Hoxie announces the 2022 CCCK Men Soccer Squad!

6/30/2022 1:36:00 PM

McPherson, KS – Central Christian College of Kansas men's soccer head coach Aaron Hoxie and his coaching staff have announced the recruiting class for the upcoming season.  The group of twenty three incoming players are a variation of freshman and transfers, and will look to bring their talents to campus in hopes of making a big impact right away.  "We graduated several big classes over the last 2-3 seasons so we were in need of refreshing the squad this season.  We can't run the program the way we want to run it without depth, and this class gives us the opportunity to do so.  There is loads of talent in this group, we just need to find a way to get them adapted to our culture, and the collegiate game quickly," Coach Hoxie added.

Unique to the day that we live in are the Covid players.  These players all received one more year of collegiate eligibility due to the virus in 2020.  Coach Hoxie has added six graduates of CCCK who will return to pursue a graduate degree, while taking the Covid year.  "Having these guys return to the team will be invaluable for the new players.  Our leadership structure is in place, these guys have all been through the ringer before, and they know what the expectations are.  These guys were all instrumental in the development of our identity.  My hope is that we get a good product on the field but we grow off the field as these players invest in the younger generation of Tigers.  The relationship piece is why our program has been able to graduate so many players over the last several years.  Older players add so much value."

This class will include players from Texas, Kansas, Oklahoma, Colorado, and Arizona, which have all been mainstay recruiting areas for the coaching staff historically.  Continuing recent trends, the program has added several international students athletes from Spain, Italy, Ecuador, Argentina, Brazil, Chile, and Mexico.  Coach Malone is also excited and looking forward to working with this group of diverse players, "I'm really excited about this year's incoming class.  The range of talent is going to improve the squad across all areas of the pitch as well as provide quality competition for the lineup throughout the season.  The incoming experience at various high levels has the potential to push this group to new heights."
