Tigers Dominate in Win against Sterling

Sterling, Kan. - The Tiger Men's Soccer team had a very strong showing in an away contest against Sterling College on Saturday, winning the match by a score of 4-1.

The Tigers got on the board early as Braydon Frederick found the back of the net in just the 5th minute.

The Tigers followed with two more first half goals from Thando Dube in the 31st minute and Omoghene Agizbo in the 38th minute to take a commanding 3-0 lead into halftime. The Tigers outshot Sterling 11-3 in the first half.

Things would slow down a bit in the second half as the first goal would not come until Sterling's first and only goal of the match in the 69th minute on a penalty kick.

Braydon Frederick scored his second of the match in the 81st minute for the Tigers to add to the lead and cap off a strong road victory. Freshman Goalkeeper Martin Restrepo made his first start of the season for the Tigers, making 4 saves and earning his first collegiate win.

The Tigers are now 2-2-1 on the season and will battle Hesston college on Wednesday night in their first home match of the season. The match will begin at 7:30 and be streamed on the SAC Sports Network and Urban Edge Network.
