Tigers Lose Lead, Drop Contest to Eagles

Bethany, Okla. - The Central Christian College of Kansas Men's Basketball Team faced off against conference foe Southwestern Christian University on Thursday night. The Tigers would go on to fall to the Eagles, 79-76.

Central controlled the first half, shooting 57% from the field and working the boards well to gain rebounds. The Tigers saw themselves take a 47-41 lead into halftime. The Tigers cooled off in the second half and the Eagles took advantage.

The Eagles outscored the Tigers 38-29 to win the game 79-76 despite the Tigers having four scorers in double digits. The Tigers also won the turnover battle but got outrebounded by the Eagles which created more second chance opportunities.

Chris Whitten led the Tigers in scoring with 18, Jevarrick Butler had 16 while Andre Cooper and Andruw Rondon both tallied 13 points.

Next up for the Tigers (7-8, 2-7 SAC), they welcome Oklahoma City University to the Jerry E. Alexander Arena on Saturday. Tip is scheduled for 3:45pm and the game will be streamed on the Urban Edge Network.
