McPherson, Kan. - The Tiger women's soccer team took on the WIlliams Baptist University Eagles last night in another home contest looking to get back on the right track after a tough home loss to friends University last Saturday.
The Eagles dominated possession early and generated a lot of scoring opportunities in the first half. Tigers goalkeeper Macy Clements held her own stopping all 6 shots on goal from the Eagles in the first 39 minutes, but in the 43rd minute the Tigers committed a foul in the box granting the Eagles a penalty kick. The attempt was successful and the Tigers trailed 1-0 heading into halftime.
In the second half the Eagles continued to put the pressure on and generate scoring opportunities, scoring in the 56th and 61st minutes to take a commanding 3-0 lead. The Tigers were able to create a lot more chances in the second half taking 6 total shots, but none could find the back of the net as the Tigers would fall to the Eagles 3-0.
This loss puts the Tigers at 1-3-0 on the season as they will look to regroup and host intown rival McPherson College on Tuesday evening to kick off the 2025 Collegiate Cup. The game will kickoff at 5pm and will be streamed on the SAC Sports Network and Urban Edge Network.
