The Tiger women's soccer team battled intown rival McPherson college last night to kickoff the collegiate cup competition between the two schools.

McPherson had a lot of the chances in the first half as they possessed the ball better than the Tigers and had 5 shots make it on goal. But Tiger goalkeeper Macy Clements held her own, stopping all 5 of those shots including a couple huge saves in 1 on 1 situations. The Tigers were not able to score in the first half either as they had just 1 shot on goal that couldn't reach the back of the net.

In the 2nd half McPherson continued to generate more opportunities as 6 of their 7 second half shots made it on goal, but Macy Clements continued to play excellent and denied McPherson on all 6 tries. The Tigers had a few decent scoring chances in the 2nd half but were not able to notch a goal as the exciting first game of the collegiate cup would end in the anticlimactic fashion of a 0-0 draw.

The Tigers are now 1-3-1 on the season and will look to build on a strong defensive performance and generate more offense on Saturday afternoon at home against Tabor College. The game will kickoff at 1pm and will be streamed on the SAC sports network and Urban Edge Network.
