Salina, Kan. - The Tigers took on the Kansas Wesleyan University Coyotes in a late night contest beginning at about 9pm due to delays from a storm looking to get back on track after a tough home loss to Briar Cliff this past Saturday.
Both teams had some chances early in the game with a couple of shot attempts but nothing to show for it until the Coyotes found the back of the net off of a corner kick in the 41st minute to strike first. The Tigers earned a corner kick in the 43rd minute but came up empty handed and headed into the break down 1-0
The Tigers began the 2nd half looking to respond and did just that in the 61st minute as
Sidney Tippner scored his 3rd goal of the season off of a nice centering pass from
Genis Alcaide to tie the game. There wouldn't be much more action other than a couple more corner kick opportunities until the Coyotes unfortunately found the back of the net on a set piece into the box in the 86th minute to take a 2-1 lead. The Tigers weren't able to find the quick response and lost on a goal in the closing minutes for the 2nd time this season.
The Tigers now sit at 0-3-1 and are still searching for their first win of the 2025 season. They will look to regroup and earn it in Nebraska against Concordia University on Saturday. The game will be streamed on the GPAC network.
