McPherson, Kan. - The Tiger Women's Soccer team was back in action at home on Saturdays as they took on the Nelson University Lions in the first conference match up of the season.

Nelson dominated possession of the ball early and were able to generate a lot of opportunities, the lone goal of the first half would be from the Lions in the 30th minute to give them a 1-0 lead going into the break. 

The score would remain stuck at 1-0 for most of the first half as the Tigers struggled to build scoring chances but were giving themselves a chance to escape with a draw if they could find a late scoring opportunity similar to the draw with Bethany last Wednesday night. Unfortunately the Tigers could not do so and a pair of Nelson goals in the 86th and 88th minute would add to their lead and put the game away.

The Tigers are now 2-5-2 (0-1-0) on the season and will turn their focus to an away conference match against John Brown University in Arkansas tomorrow afternoon. The game will kickoff at 3:00 and will be streamed on the SAC Sports Network and Urban Edge Network.
