Tigers Score in Final Seconds to Draw With Bethany

Linsborg, Kan. - The Tiger Women's Soccer team took on Bethany college last night just north of town in Linsborg looking to tally a 2nd straight win for the first time this season.

There would be no scoring in the 1st half, Bethany took 10 total shots in the first 45 with the Tigers taking 5 but none found the back of the net. Bethany struck first in the match shortly after halftime in the 51st minute. The Tigers answered back 12 minutes later as CJ Cox netted her first goal of the season to even things up.

The score remained 1-1 until the 83rd minute when Bethany's Londyn Salinas scored her 2nd of the game to give her team the very late lead. The Tigers needed to generate a scoring chance fast to avoid the loss and with 19 seconds left in the match, the Tigers' CJ Cox delivered again for the game tying goal to allow the Tigers to escape with a 2-2 draw.

The Tigers are now 2-4-2 on the season and are gearing up for their first conference match of the season against Nelson University at home on Saturday afternoon. The game will kickoff at 1pm and be streamed on the SAC Sports Network and Urban Edge Network.
