Tigers fall to Wayland and OPSU at Home

McPherson, Kan. – The Central Christian College of Kansas Women's Volleyball team was back in action this weekend as they faced Wayland Baptist and Oklahoma Panhandle State in a pair of conference matchups.

Game 1: On Friday, the Tigers hosted the Wayland Baptist University Pioneers in a SAC matchup. The first set was back and forth featuring multiple runs from each team to keep them in the set. The Tigers, down 14-19, score 5 straight points to knot the set at 19-19. Up 23-21, the Tigers could not convert and Wayland took the first set 26-24.
The Tigers would not regain momentum as the Pioneers took advantage, going on an 11 point run to take a 16-4 lead in the second set. The Pioneers would take the set 25-15. The Tigers put up a fight in the third but went on to drop the third set 25-14 and lose the match in straight sets.

Despite the loss, the Tigers had 29 kills on 124 swings with just 20 errors resulting in a positive hitting percentage of .073.

Game 2: Saturday, the Tigers looked to rebound from the previous night, still in search of their first conference win. They took on the Oklahoma Panhandle State Aggies as they tried to thwart the Aggies current win streak.
Set one saw two runs of four and five points in a row that created a gap that the Tigers could not overcome. The Aggies would take set one, 25-18. Set two was much of the same as Tiger errors and multiple service aces from the Aggies would vault them to an 11 point run in the set, leading them to win set two, 25-15. The Tigers put up a fight in set three, scoring six straight points near the end of the set to give the Tigers life. The Aggies would not back down though and take the third set 25-22 and the match in straight sets.

The Tigers again recorded a positive hitting percentage on the match of .068. The Tigers had 30 kills and just 23 errors on 103 swings.
