McPherson, Kan. - The Tiger Volleyball team played their first conference home games this past weekend against the John Brown University Golden Eagles, and the College of The Ozarks Bobcats.
Game 1: The Tigers were swept by John Brown on Friday evening by scores of 25-21, 25-22, and 25-23. This is the most competitive the Tigers have been in a loss this season as all 3 sets featured back and forth action with neither team being able to pull away at any point. The Tigers had a 22-21 lead late in set 2 and were tied 23-23 in set 3 but unfortunately drew the short end of the stick in both of those. The team finished with a positive hitting percentage of .059.
Game 2: The Tigers were swept again on Saturday afternoon by College of The Ozarks by scores of 25-19, 25-17, 25-17. The Tigers hit even better as a team than on Friday with a hitting percentage of .103 but the Bobcats were even more dominant tallying just 13 errors on the match with 40 kills. Because of that they were able to go on big runs and pull ahead in all 3 sets.
The Tigers are now 2-8 (0-5) and will turn the page to 2 more home contests this upcoming weekend against Wayland Baptist University on Friday at 6pm, and Oklahoma Panhandle State University on Saturday at 1pm. The games will be streamed on the SAC Sports Network and Urban Edge Network.
