McPherson, Kan. - The Central Christian Women's Soccer team took on Friends University at home this past Saturday night looking to carry over the momentum from a win over Spurgeon College in Kansas City last Wednesday.
Friends possessed the ball early and often, generating multiple chances right away and scoring the first goal of the game in the 10th minute. Friends kept up the pressure for all of the first half, generating 24 shot attempts with 9 making it on goal. Tigers goalkeeper
Macy Clements did a nice job limiting the damage as only 2 of those 9 shots on goal made it into the net as the Tigers trailed 2-0 at halftime.
Friends continued to dominate possession and with scoring opportunities in the 2nd half, scoring 3 more goals on 8 more shots on goal. The Tigers struggled to get anything going offensively and were unable to respond to the pressure from Friends as the game would end in a tough 5-0 loss.
The Tigers now sit at (1-2-0) on the season and will look to quickly flush the loss and prepare for another home contest against Williams Baptist University on Thursday night. The game will kickoff at 7:30pm and will be streamed live on the SAC Sports Network and Urban Edge Network.
