McPherson, Kan. — Central Christian College of Kansas volleyball returned home Friday morning to face one of the top teams in the Sooner Athletic Conference, falling in straight sets to Texas Wesleyan (8-25, 17-25, 13-25) inside Jerry E. Alexander Arena.
The Tigers battled early behind strong setting from Maddie Nix, who dished out 16 assists while also contributing 11 digs. Tasia Harris led the offensive attack with seven kills, followed by Sydnie Jones with five and Danika Lords with four. Defensively, Alysen Harris anchored the back row with eight digs and a pair of service aces, while Dylan Smith added two kills and a block assist at the net.
After a tough opening set, Central Christian found more rhythm in the second. The Tigers opened with a 4–2 lead behind kills from Harris and Lords before the visiting Rams responded with a late surge to take control. Central continued to compete in the third, with Harris and Jones providing consistent scoring on the outside, but Texas Wesleyan's efficiency proved too much down the stretch.
Despite the setback, the Tigers showed growth in long rallies and improved communication as they continue conference play. Central Christian moves to 4–21 overall and 2–17 in SAC play, while Texas Wesleyan improves to 21–5 and 18–1.
The Tigers will be back in action Saturday afternoon when they host Nelson University at 1pm. The games will be streamed on the Urban Edge Network and SAC Sports Network.
