Game Recap: Women's Volleyball | | Kacey Parrett

Tigers Fall to Nelson and Texas Wesleyan on The Road

The Tiger Women's Volleyball team traveled to Texas this past weekend for a pair of conference matches against the Nelson University Lions and Texas Wesleyan University Rams.

Game 1:
Waxahachie, Texas. - The Tigers were swept in Friday's contest against Nelson by scores of 25-9, 25-12, and 25-17. Nelson was hitting very well as a team and the Tigers fell behind early in each set making it difficult to get things going. The Tigers did narrowly finish with a positive hitting percentage of .053 as the loss pointed more towards the Lions hitting .286 overall than it did to self inflicted errors.

Game 2:
Fort Worth, Texas. - The Tigers were swept again in Saturday's contest against Texas Wesleyan by scores of 16-25, 12-25, and 14-25. The Tigers did get off to better starts in each set than they did the previous day but were unable to hold up as Texas Wesleyan was hitting very well as a team and putting pressure on the Tigers. The Rams entered this contest undefeated in conference play and showed why with 42 kills and only 12 errors. The Tigers again did narrowly finish with a positive hitting percentage of .020.

The Tigers are now 3-14 (1-10) on the season and will look to bounce back at home on Tuesday night against Oklahoma City University. The game will begin at 6pm and be streamed on the SAC Sports Network and Urban Edge Network.
