Tigers Fall in Four Sets to Oklahoma City

McPherson, Kan. - The Central Christian College of Kansas Women's Volleyball team was back in action yesterday as they took on the Oklahoma City University Stars. The two teams got a unique experience to play this match at Canton-Galva High School due to renovations in Central Christian's Gym. It provided an opportunity for high school students and members of the community to come watch the Tigers compete.

Early in the first set, the Tigers found themselves down after multiple OCU runs. The Tigers would fight back to get within three when they got the set to 15-12. The Stars would proceed to go on a 10-4 run to capture the first set 25-16.

Central found life in the second set, taking an early advantage and jumping out to a 12-7 lead. The Tigers would go on to win the set 25-23, boasting a .250 hitting percentage with 15 kills and just two errors on 52 swings.

The Tigers would unfortunately run out of steam as the Stars would capitolize on a nine point run to take a 23-11 advantage in the third set. The Tigers would put up a fight near the end of the set but the Stars would take the third set 25-15 to go up 2-1 in the match.

The fourth set was much of the same as the Tigers once again ran out of gas. The Stars used multiple runs to jump out to a big lead and gain momentum. The Stars would take set four 25-15 to win the match in four sets, 3-1.

Despite the loss, the Tigers hit at a .151 clip tallying 36 kills with just 15 errors on 139 swings in the match.
