Tigers Wrap Up Road Trip with Battles Against Wayland and OPSU

Goodwell, Okla. - Central Christian College of Kansas volleyball closed out its final road weekend of the regular season with a pair of Sooner Athletic Conference matchups, falling to Oklahoma Panhandle State on Friday night and Wayland Baptist on Saturday afternoon.

On Friday, the Tigers faced a strong OPSU squad that came out firing. Central's offense began to find more rhythm as the match went on, highlighted by sophomore Tasia Harris, who led the Tigers with six kills, while setter Maddie Nix dished out 14 assists. Defensively, Alysen Harris anchored the back row with 13 digs, and Sofia Brockmeyer added 14 more to keep rallies alive.

Despite the straight set loss, the Tigers showed late-set resilience, pushing the Aggies with improved attacking efficiency in the third set. Danika Lords chipped in four kills off the bench, and Sydnie Jones and Dylan Smith added three each.

Central regrouped quickly and returned to action Saturday morning against Wayland Baptist, where they again fell in straight sets (25-12, 25-10, 25-22). After a slow start, the Tigers battled point-for-point in the final frame, nearly extending the match behind a spirited defensive effort and improved serving.

Junior setter Maddie Nix continued to run the offense, finishing with 12 assists and a team-high 19 digs — marking one of her strongest all-around performances of the season. Tasia Harris again paced the attack with six kills, while Sofia Brockmeyer tallied 12 digs. Alysen Harris, serving as libero, added seven digs and three assists, while Dylan Smith contributed three kills and two block assists at the net.
