Game Recap: Men's Soccer | | Kacey Parrett

Tigers Drop Home Match to USAO

McPherson, Kan. - The Tigers Men's Soccer took on the University of Science and arts Oklahoma Drovers last night at home looking to get back on track after a pair of losses last week.

The Drovers put pressure on the Tigers early on as they dominated possession, they were awarded an early penalty shot in the 13th minute but Tiger goalkeeper Nav Bhandal made a terrific save. 4 minutes later Bhandal made another good save but the Drovers put the rebound into the net before it could be cleared away to earn an early 1-0 lead. This would be the lone goal of the first half as the Tigers would need to create more chances in the 2nd half.

The Drovers unfortunately kept the momentum and netted another goal just 2 minutes into the 2nd half to go up 2-0. The Tigers did generate a few solid chances from that point on but came up empty handed and just unfortunately found themselves playing on their own end of the field too often in this one. The Drovers added another late goal to seal it as the Tigers lost a tough one by a score of 3-0

The Tigers are now 2-10-3 (2-4-1) on the season and still narrowly hold a spot in the conference tournament in the standings. The team will look for a big upset win against the 1st place Oklahoma City University Stars on Saturday in the final home match of the season. Kickoff is set for 3:30 and will be streamed on the SAC Sports Network and Urban Edge Network.
