Tigers fall to the Pioneers on Senior Day

McPherson, Kan.- The Central Christian College men's basketball team experienced a loss this weekend against the Wayland Baptist Pioneers, 105-64. 

The Pioneers came hot right out of the gate, establishing their lead. The Tigers try to turn up the offense a good three point shot by Chris Whitten, but the Pioneers have a death grip on the lead, ending the first half with a 24-point lead. 

Once halftime is completed, the Tigers continue to put up a solid fight. Jaeden Whitten scored a good two pointer at the 7:26 mark, making the Tigers break 50 points. Jackson Hodge had the pleasure of ending the game with his own two point shot. The battle was tough but well fought. Good effort Tigers!

Points off Turnovers hampered the Tigers as they allowed 20 points off of the 11 turnovers they surrendered. 

By the Numbers 

For the game, the Tigers made 23 of the 52 (44%) of their attempts from the floor.   

From beyond the arc, they were 7 of 21 (33%) 

At the free throw line, the Tigers were 11 of 14 (79%). 

The Tigers were outrebounded by the Pioneers 37 to 14, but the Tigers won the turnover battle 11 to 10.
