Chickasha, Okla.  – The Central Christian College baseball team went on the road this past weekend for a three game series with Sooner Athletic Conference perennial power house University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma. The Tigers returned home with three losses. The Tigers opened the series with a 13-2 loss, scoring two runs on five hits that included a double by Jose Esparza.

The Tigers were roughed up in the second game on Friday, dropping a 16-1 decision. Their lone run came on four hits, with the highlight being a solo homerun in the top of the first inning by Alejandro Pina.

The two teams resumed the series on Saturday, wrapping things up with a nine inning contest. The Tigers forced the Drovers to play all nine innings, but ultimately fell 10-1. The Tigers had four hits in the game including another double by Esparza that drove in Eli Campbell for the lone Tiger run of the game.

Next Up: The Tigers will be back on the diamond on Tuesday in a midweek game at home against the Bethany College Swedes. The Tigers and Swedes met up in Lindsborg a couple of weeks ago, with Bethany escaping with a narrow 6-4 victory. First pitch on Tuesday out at Tiger Stadium is slated for 4:00 pm.
