McPherson, Kan. – The Central Christian College Women's Volleyball team was back in action this past Thursday night as they took on Oklahoma City University in this Sooner Athletic Conference matchup. This was also a special game for the Tigers as it was their Pink Out game. With October being Breast Cancer Awareness month, the Tiger Volleyball program took a few moments before the game to recognize family and friends that have fought or continue to fight.
The Tigers looked to bounce back as they suffered a tough loss in 5 sets last week. Central did not have an answer for the Stars attack early, as OCU jumped out to a 10-5 lead early in the first set. The Tigers continued to battle but would lose the first set 17-25. The second set sparked life into the Tigers as they were down 15-10 but rattled off 9 unanswered points to take a 19-15 lead in the set. Oklahoma City stayed poised and did not let this phase them as they fended off a Tiger comeback to win the second set 26-24 to take a 2-0 lead in the match. The Stars proved too much for the Tigers as they would take the third set 25-11 and winning the match 3-0.
