McPherson, Kan. – The Central Christian College women's basketball team struggled to find their rhythm on the offensive end of the floor on Tuesday night when they hosted the Langston University Lions.
In the first quarter, the Tiger defense held the high scoring Lions to just 16 points, and they were within five of the visitors heading into the second period. Through the first eight and a half minutes of the second quarter, they kept holding strong limiting the Lions to just 31 points. Unfortunately things fell apart in the final minute and a half of the period, and the Lions finished on a 9-0 run to go into the break up 40 to 17.
In the second half, the Tigers continued to struggle on offense, and the Lions finally broke them down on defense. The Lions out-scored the Tigers 51 to 22 in the half to win going away, 91-38.
By the Numbers
For the game, the Tiger offense went 13-61 (21%) from the floor.
They were just 5 of 32 (16%), from behind the three point arc.
They went 7-13 (54%) from the free throw line.
The Lions won the battle of the boards 58 to 34, and also the turnover battle 14 to 20.
Kylee Jones had another nice night for the Tiger offense, setting another new career mark with 22 points.

The Tigers will play their second of three games this week on Thursday, going on the road for a 6:00 pm match-up in Siloam Springs, Arkansas with the John Brown University Golden Eagles.
