Hillsboro, Kan. – The Central Christian College women's soccer team was back on the pitch Wednesday evening, making the short trip over to Hillsboro, Kansas, to take on the Tabor College Bluejays. The Tigers were coming off of a weekend forfeit from Texas College, and were itching to get back on the field.
Unfortunately the Tigers didn't come out of the locker room sharp, and the Bluejays took advantage of some early mistakes by the CCCK ladies that eventually led to a 4-0 win for the home side. Tabor had the advantage in most of the statistical categories, out shooting the Tigers 16 to 4, and putting 9 shots on frame to just 1 for the Tigers.
Freshman Katelyn Beckman was in goal for the Tigers. She came away with 5 saves in taking the loss.
Coach Macharia commented on the loss saying, "We had a tough time tonight as a team. We made some really basic mistakes that created chances for tabor and they took full advantage. We struggled to create much tonight. We know we can do better and so we will watch this film and hopefully help us recover quickly because games are coming swiftly."
With the loss, the Tigers are now 2-3 on the season. They will be back on the pitch on Saturday in a 4:00 pm match up at Bacone College, in Muskogee, Okla.
