Coach Macharia commented on the win saying, "We started slow but the girls after 15 minutes raised their game and played very well through the rest of the game. We were dominant throughout and the win was well deserved. I am proud of the work ethic and desire to play well even in a very hot afternoon."

The Central Christian College men's soccer team remained undefeated on the year, moving to 4-0-2 on the year with a 4-0 win over Bacone College, on Saturday, on the road in Muskogee, Oklahoma.

The Tigers were in control from the first whistle, controlling the ball, and dominating the time of possession. They put a lot of pressure on the Warrior midfield, and back line. The pressure forced numerous mistakes that the Tigers were able to capitalize on. Just a little over six minutes into the first half, the Tigers forced a turnover in the Warriors' defensive third. Mattia Cola collected it and beat the goal keeper to put the Tigers up 1-0.

The second Tiger goal came off a Warrior turnover in the midfield, Cola played fed Drew Schrader on his way to goal, and he fired a shot that had enough velo to deflect off the goal keepers' hands and into the back of the net. Just before halftime, the Tigers broke the Warriors' will. The third goal of the opening half was the result of the Tigers building from the back rather than a turnover by the Warriors. Carlos Arias fed Johnny Rodriguez, who beat his man near post.

In the second half, the Tigers worked a lot on possession, keeping the ball away from the Warriors. When they did go forward it was after having opened up the field in their favor rather than playing long balls over the Warrior defense. Their lone goal of the second half came off the foo the Camilo Penafiel, who was just called up to the First Team for this game. Rodriguez got free, and fired a shot at net. The Warrior net minder made a brilliant save but couldn't hold onto the ball. The rebound found Penafiel's foot and he buried it for his first collegiate goal.

Sebastian Herrera picked up the win and the clean sheet in goal for the Tigers. He faced just one shot on goal from the Warriors.

Coach Hoxie summed up the match saying, "Another trap game for the guys today. It was hot super windy, and the field played not in our favor. We did not use this as an excuse, both teams had to play in this environment, but our mindset was always going to be the challenge. The guys really were able to focus and hold to our standards. We were all over them in the first half causing havoc in the defensive third with our movement and our pressing. The boys were really committed to making this a very long 90 minutes for them. I couldn't be happier with our goals because they came directly off of their errors, errors that we created." Hoxie continued, "The second half was a giant game of keep away as we held onto the ball and knocked it around the park. We weren't in any rush to go forward and we wanted to bring them out and force them to open up spaces for us. When we did go forward, it was really good and we probably should have scored another three or four times. We need to finish better and more consistently, especially when we get into the next week or two of play. Chances will be few and far between and we have to take them when they do come." He finished by adding, "Overall, this was a professional performance for these kids. It could've been very easy for us to open up in the second half and risk giving up some goals but we were able to focus in and do what was needed. We came down here to handle some business and we took care of it."

Next up for the Tiger men is a shot at Randall University at home next Wednesday evening at 8:00 pm.
