Tigers Finish 1-1 at Bethel Triangular

North Newton, Kan. – The Central Christian College volleyball team was back on the hardwood Tuesday evening in a triangular against Cottey College, and the host school, the Bethel College Threshers.

The Tigers opened up against the Cottey College Comets, and after a shaky start, falling 25-22 in the opening set, rallied to win the final three set 25-16, 25-22, 25-23, moving to 2-1 on the season.

In the night cap, the Tigers squared off against the Bethel College Threshers. The Tigers took on a much improved Thresher squad, proving to be too much for the Tigers. The home side took the match in straight sets, 25-14, 25-20, 25-19.

Key Statistic

In the first match against the Comets, serving was a key component to the comeback and the win. The Tigers recorded seven aces in the match, compared to just 1 for the Comets.

In the night cap, there wasn't one statistical category that turned the tide in the favor of the Threshers. The home team was just a little sharper in each of them.

Against the Comets, the Tigers hit .109 with 46 kills on 156 swings with 29 errors.

They assisted on all 46 of their kills.
