McPherson, Kan. – For ten minutes on Thursday evening, the Central Christian College women's basketball played their best basketball of the season, looking like a completely different team, as they hosted the Oklahoma Panhandle State University Aggies at Jerry Alexander Arena.
In the opening period Thursday evening, the Tiger were stellar on both ends of the floor. They opened the game on a 7-0 run and rode the momentum to a 26-13 lead at the end of the period. Unfortunately from there, things took a southward turn for the remaining 30 minutes of action.
Heading into the second quarter, the Tigers had turned the ball over just five times. In the next three periods, that number would turn into 34 total for the game. The Aggies outscored the Tigers in the second quarter 18 to 7, but heading into the break, the CCCK ladies still clung to a two point lead, 33-31.
Out of the break, the Aggies couldn't miss. They scored 36 points in the third quarter to just 13 for the Tigers. The 13 point lead the Tigers had enjoyed in the first half, had turned into a 21 point deficit heading into the final 10 minutes of play. In the fourth quarter, the Aggies continued to score in bunches, as the Tigers ran out of steam. In the end, the Tigers fell to the Aggies 88-57.

Coach Quote:
"We are just a very undisciplined team. That is my 100% fault. But we will not compete with teams in this conference with the players that we have and the injuries we are fighting without discipline and execution. Our foundational skills and our attention to detail continue to keep this team down. Our inability to tighten up and play with discipline was shown from the second quarter through the fourth. We have a lot of excuses but not a lot of accountability or answers. When we can start to take ownership of our play and our behavior and then make steps to address those, this team will be fun. Until then, we will just not be competitive with anyone in the conference."– Coach Barreiro
