McPherson, Kan. – The Central Christian College women's basketball team fell on Saturday, at home, 98-30 to the Wayland Baptist University Flying Queens.
The Flying Queens played a zone defense for the entire game, doing a nice job of denying the Tiger offense inside the three point arc. The inability to score inside forced the Tigers to shoot the ball from deep. The Tigers ended up taking 40 three pointers in the game, but were only able to connect on four of their attempts.
The Flying Queens on the other hand used their size advantage on the interior to run roughshod over the Tigers scoring 72 of their 98 points from inside the paint.
By the Numbers
For the game, the Tigers shot 18% from the floor (11 of 62).
As mentioned above they were 4 of 40 from deep (10%).
They went to the free throw line just five times making four of their tries (80%).
The Tigers committed 24 turnovers and had 33 boards.

Coach Quote:
"I think the Grinch on our team is definitely injuries. The Grinch took another player right before the game and two more during the game. Thank goodness Christmas break is approaching. My hope is that our Grinch starts to sing a different tune. I think it will be a good thing for all the Whos in Whoville to spend time recharging and relaxing. Our hope is that many of the players the Grinch stole before Christmas will be making triumphant returns down the hill and into Whoville very soon after Christmas day. When that happens we will all join and sing "Fah Who Doraze" around center court!"– Coach Barreiro
