Oklahoma City, Okla. – The Central Christian College women's soccer team fell to 0-2 in the Sooner Athletic Conference, losing on the road on Saturday 5-0 to the Mid-America Christian University Evangels.
The Tigers, still missing a couple of key players who are out nursing injuries, struggled to find any rhythm offensively against the Evangels. They managed just two shots in the game, both of them on goal, forcing the MACU goalkeeper to make a save. The Evangels on the other hand took 38 total shots, putting 16 of them on frame.
Katelyn Beckman, the Tiger goalkeeper was constantly under fire throughout the 90 minutes played. She finished with 11 of 16 shots saved.
The Tigers surrendered two goals to the Evangels in the first half, the first coming in the 14th minute of the game, and the second in the 31st minute. The three second half goals came in the 49th, 52nd, and 56th minutes.
With the loss, the Tigers drop to 4-5 overall, and 0-2 in the SAC. No rest for the weary as they will get right back at it on Tuesday when they head back down to OKC for a 5:00 pm matchup with the Oklahoma City University Stars.
