Oklahoma City, Okla. – The Central Christian College women's soccer team dropped their third straight decision, falling on the road on Tuesday evening 2-0 against the Oklahoma City University Stars.
The Tigers, playing their third game in six days, two of them on back to back road trips, appeared to leave the CCCK ladies a little bit fatigued. The Stars controlled the ball, for most of the game, and had a decided advantage in shots and shots on goal. OCU finished with 20 total shots, 13 of which found the frame. The Tigers had fewer shots, but were very efficient. They took just three total shots, but placed two of them on goal.
Katelyn Beckman, the Tiger goalkeeper, had another strong showing between the pipes. She had another double digit save night finishing with 11.
The Tigers gave up a single goal in each half. The first came in the 17th minute, the second in the 62nd.
Coach Macharia summed up the evening saying, "We had an eventful day that may have caused our slow and lethargic play yesterday. We struggled connecting passes and building our play the way we want to. We created some chances but we missed the finishing touch. We had another great performance from our keeper and the defense to keep the score low."
With the loss, the Tigers drop to 4-6 overall, and 0-3 in the SAC. They will be back on the pitch on Saturday afternoon playing their homecoming game against the Aggies of Oklahoma Panhandle State University. Kick-off is slated for 4:30 pm.
