MCPHERSON, Kansas – After opening the 2021 season at home, the Tigers went on an 8-game road trip and were ready to return back to Jerry Alexander Arena in front of a home crowd. Tigers opened their 4-game home stand against KCAC opponent Tabor College.
Tabor would come into tonight's match 3-6 and featured some of the tallest opponents the Tigers will face on the season.
Tigers wouldn't have too many answers for the Blue Jays tonight as the Jays used height to their advantage and gave Tiger hitters a challenge forcing them to commit 19 errors while only collecting 13 kills on the night. Tigers, however would have a highlight on the night as they played close with Tabor on set 2 and forced a late rally from the Blue Jays to sneak away with the set win 25-22. Tigers in set 2 would account for over half of their total kills on the night with 7 in set 2 alone and have a positive hitting percentage (.086%). Unfortunately for the Central, Tabor College would have their number tonight and be able to complete the comeback after being down 18-13.
Tigers will remain at home for the weekend and will host a triangular on Friday against SAGU and Sterling College, then finish the home stand against Texas Wesleyan on Saturday.
Go Tigers!
