Oklahoma City, OK – The Lady Tigers would make their way down to Oklahoma City to take on Sooner Athletic Conference opponent Mid-America Christian.
Last game for the ladies would result in a 2-0 shutout victory over the Oklahoma Panhandle State Aggies.
Tonight the Lady Tigers would have their hands full with an Evangels team who was 8-1, 2-0 SAC before the match. With the Evangels outscoring SAC opponents 5-1. This would be a big match for the Tigers who currently are right in the middle of the pack of the SAC.
Evangels would attack early in the 1
st half with a goal in the 10' thanks to 30 yard shot by Marga Franco to put the Tigers in a 1-0 deficit. Evangels in this half would have another 5 shots on goal, but the Tigers defense led by
Goldie Bougher would be able to come up with clutch saves to keep the game only a score difference heading to the 2
nd half.
After being outshoot 8-0 in the 1
st half the Tigers needed to make an adjustment in order to overcome the Evangels. The 2
nd half wouldn't be much different than the first unfortunately. The Tigers would be able to have a shot on goal, but the MACU Goal Keeper would be able to come up with the save and complete the shutout.
Goldie Bougher would have a good game in goal with 10 saves on 11 opportunities.
Lady Tigers overall do a good job to limit the Evangels to one goal, but that would be all it takes to win this match. Tigers drop to 5-5, 1-2 SAC and will regroup, and head back home to host SCU on Friday, March 5
th.
Go Tigers!
