Springdale, ARKANSAS – Tigers and the Royals met for the second time this season. The Tigers having the upper hand last time at home with a narrow 75-73 victory. This time however Tigers had to get the job done on the road.
Within the first two minutes Royals built a 9-2 lead to begin the game. Tigers though went on a 12-3 run to gain their first lead of the game at 14-12 with 14:17 remaining. The lead changed another 4 times, before the Tigers started to separate themselves down the stretch of the 1
st half. In the final 4:30 minutes the Tigers went on a 10-2 run and took the halftime lead 41-32.
Tigers use a hot start to the 2
nd half to put the Royals in a 20 point deficit 62-42 with 13:12 remaining. The Royals tried multiple times to build strong enough runs to get back into the game, but the game never got back into single digit deficit and the Tigers end up beating the Royals by a point in the 2
nd half, and win on the road, 83-73.
Tigers shoot 41.7 percent from the floor compared to the Royals 38 percent. Tigers also held the advantage in free throws 12-6. The Royals actually made more three pointers 13-11, and rebounds 44-36 than the
Tigers. Both teams had similar stat lines on assist with 13 apiece.
