McPherson, KANSAS – A mixture of hot shooting from the Aggies and some offensive woes in the first half for the Lady Tigers, led to a lob sided defeat and conference loss on Thursday night.
Briana Marquez scores 20 points on 7-9 from the field and 6-7 from the 3 to help the Aggies to an 82-41 victory.
Aggies shot 50% (30-60) from the floor and 44.8% (13-29) from the 3 point line compared to the Tigers 28.6 field goal percentage and 20 percent from the 3. Aggies outrebounded the Tigers 40-23, had more assist 14-8, but the Tigers held the advantage in free throws 10-9.
MATCH SUMMARY
Lady Tigers go off to a good start up 4-0 until Aggies got their first basket in the 5:31 minute mark, to cut into the Tigers lead 4-2. From there the Aggies ended the quarter on a 15-2 run, and put the Tigers in a 11 point deficit.
The second quarter wouldn't be too kind to the Tigers, as the Aggies continue their hot shooting and outdo the Tigers by 15 to increase Aggie lead to 26 points at half.
The Tigers offense began to wake up in the 3
rd quarter, and the team started to see some shots drop. They doubled their total score in just the lone quarter to start building some confidence. The second half was much closer overall as the Tigers scored 30 points to the Aggies 45 points.
