Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Tigers drop match to Grace College, but move to NCCAA Final Four!

Kissimmee, FLORIDA – Both Grace College and Tigers came into the match 1-0, for the tournament and both had identical goal differential's (+4), a key component of tie-breakers for the championship. The Tigers came into the match with the best goal differential out of all teams with at least 1 loss, positioning themselves in a good place to win the wild card if they lose as long as they keep the game close.

MATCH SUMMARY

Lancers got off to a good start, JJ Aalbue in the 3' minute hit a banger from outside the 20 yard box that gets past the Central goalkeeper to put Grace up 1-0. Tigers were able to settle down from the start and created some good opportunities to get back in the game, but Tiger shots couldn't quite hit the mark. At the 37:40 mark, the Lancers were able to put a dangerous ball in the box and a header was hit to the top of the goal and Lizbeth Garcia was able to get a glove on it, but it hit just above her head at the top of the goal, and Lancers go into half 2-0.

Although down 2-0 the Tigers needed to keep their heads cool as they were still in position for a wild card spot for the next round and to keep themselves with a chance to get back into the game. Tigers played aggressively in the 2nd half, as they put up six shots with 5 of them landing on frame. Unfortunately for the Tigers, Lancers goalkeeper was able to come up with saves on each attempt to keep the Tigers scoreless. Lizbeth Garcia and the Tiger defense did their job, keeping the Lancers lead at 2 goals.
