WICHITA, KANSAS –The Tigers opened up their 2021-22 season heading down to Wichita earlier today to compete in the tournament hosted by Friends University.
The Tigers were represented by
Landon Crews (133) and
Jarin Gomez (174).
Landon Crews opened the tournament against Caleb Meekins (Indian Hills) who won by fall (0:37). Crews would receive a bye his next round, followed by a win by major decision over Michael Flores (William Penn), 9-0.
Crews would conclude the tournament with a loss from Logan Chappell (Oklahoma City) by decision, 6-2.
Landon Crews goes 1-2, and earns 2.0 team points.
Jarin Gomez opened the tournament with a win by fall over Lorenzo Esparza (York) (1:23). Gomez continued next round with a win by tech fall over Liam Selhorst (Lyon College), 22-3. In the quarterfinal Makail Stanley (William Penn) won by fall (5:19). Gomez would conclude the tournament with a loss by major decision 16-8 to Jesse Gardner (Bethany)
Jarin Gomez goes 2-2, and earns 5.5 team points.
