Tigers fall to Swedes, 83-39

LINDSBORG, Kansas – Lady Tigers travel down the road to take on KCAC opponent Bethany Swedes.

GAME SUMMARY

Swedes jump out to a 5-0 lead with 9:18 to go in the 1 quarter, before the Lady Tigers, Cheyenne Marshall knocks down a jumper on the next possession. Swedes however, went on a 21-12 run through the remainder of the quarter to go up 26-14 thru 1.

Tough start to quarter #2 for the Tigers as the Swedes go on a 9-0 run through the first 4' minutes of the period to build a 21 point lead, 35-14. A bit of damage control the rest of the period for the Tigers as they finished the period off on a 9-12 run, 47-23 heading to half.

A three pointer by Bethany at 3:25 in the 3rd, gave the Swedes a 32 point cushion at 63-31. Both teams struggled down the stretch to get any more baskets in the period, besides a couple of free throws from the Tigers and score was 63-33 Swedes heading to the 4th.

Tigers only scored 6 in the period, and Swedes poured in 20 to put the final score 83-39.

Swedes Kisa Unruh leads all scorers with 23, including 7-12 from the floor and 6-3 pointers.

 Bethany shot 29-71 from the floor (40.8%), made 9-3 pointers, and hit 16-21 (76.2%) from the free throw line. Bethany also collected 56 rebounds, tallied 26 assist, and had 11 steals.

Cheyenne Marshall led the Lady Tigers with 17 points on 7-18 (38.8%) shooting including 3-3 pointers.

Central shot 14-50 from the floor (28%), made 5-3 pointers, and went 6-9 (66.7%) from the charity stripe. Tigers collected 27 boards, tallied 6 assists, and had 5 steals.
