Game Recap: Women's Volleyball |

Tigers Win! Tigers Win!

MCPHERSON, Kansas – The Lady Tigers snapped a 20-game losing streak dating back to March last year. This win was extra special for the ladies as it was the first win of the season, first conference win of the season, and did this all in front of Alumni and Friends for Homecoming.

The Lady Tigers have been itching for a win and have been showing some positive signs over the past couple of weeks. The hard work would not be in vain as they won 3-2 over the Science & Arts Drovers.

Sets
Tigers would cruise to a 25-15 victory in set one dominating the floor from start to finish. Set 2 the Drovers would have the quick start and despite erasing large deficits twice the Drovers walk away with a 25-17 win to tie the match 1-1.

Set 3 the Drovers had the early momentum and up 13-9, but not before the Lady Tigers went on a 7-0 run to give them the 16-13 lead. After the momentum shift the Tigers took care of business and closed on a 9-6 run to take the set 25-19 and put the match 2-1 Tigers.

Tigers and Drovers had their most back and forth match of the night in set 4 in which the Drovers would sneak a set win with a late comeback to force a 5th set. For the 2nd time in conference play the Tigers would find themselves in a decisive 5th set. Lady Tigers wouldn't disappoint the home crowd as they win 15-11 to secure the 1st win of the season.

Up Next
Tigers remain at home and will start the 2nd half of conference play, taking on OPSU Aggies. Game time is 7:00 p.m. Oct. 8.
