MCPHERSON, Kansas – Tigers entered the match 5-7-1, (0-3-1 SAC) in desperate need of a conference win to boost them in the standings. They would have a great opportunity hosting SAGU, who entered the game 2-6 (0-4 SAC).
Tigers started and ended the 1
st half in style, early pressure from the Tigers led to freshman
Johnny Rodriguez, with the ice breaker just 3 minutes into the match. Then towards the end of the half another freshman
Nicholas Arenare, netted the second goal of the match and put the Tigers right where they want to be with a 2-0 lead with 45 minutes remaining.
Things got a bit scary for the Tigers after an unfortunate handball foul was called in the box, and that led to the Lions converting on a PK and cut into the Tigers lead at 2-1. Tigers however, showed great resilience and patience as they continued to play their aggressive style and put pressure on the SAGU defense. From there it would be all Tigers,
Noah Banderas in the 77' minute hit an amazing shot to put the Tigers up 3-1. After Banderas' goal the Tigers offense would explode for 3 goals in 5 minutes to absolutely shake up the SAGU Lions and take home a 6-1 victory.
Tigers dominated from start to finish, holding the advantage in shots 23-3, shots-on-goal 13-1, and corner kicks 12-0. It was quite the offensive show and amazing defensive performance that led to limited chances for the visitors.

"Good job all around tonight. We certainly had some quality individual performances, but it was truly a team win tonight. Everyone did their part. I was very pleased with the guys that entered the game tonight as substitutes. They performed very well and it was their best overall game this season. They were the difference makers in both halves."
"We will let ourselves celebrate tonight as this gets us closer to post season qualification. Tomorrow will begin the preparation to try and get a result at SCU. Back to the grind we go."
