McPherson, KS – Lady Tiger's comeback bid falls short against the Aggies.
Last time these two teams met the Aggies won 69-49 on their home floor. Today's contest the Aggies would meet a completely different team.
The Tigers would have a slow start to the game as the Aggies seemed to have everything fall their way. Through 5 minutes the Aggies would put the Tigers in a deep hole as they would have a 17-6 lead. Tigers would be able to stop the bleeding though and hold the Aggies to only 4 more points the rest of the period.
In the next quarter the Tigers defense stepped up and held the Aggies to only 10 points and 3-15 from the floor. Tigers offense would do their part and make some clutch buckets to end the half and would cut the lead down to 6 points.
The next half would be an up and down affair as the Aggies would get their lead up all the way to 60 – 47 in the 4
th with only 6 minutes reaming. Tigers would show their resilience and go on a 13 – 4 over the next 5 minutes to get the game within 4. Aggies would go down and score a basket to put themselves up 6 with 17 seconds remaining.
Cheyenne Marshall would catch lob pass from
Josie Cook and drain a deep 3 to put the score 68 – 65. Aggies would make 1 of 2 free throws to go up 69-65. Cheyenne would almost once again have another clutch shot, but her and 1 3-pointer would be slightly strong and the Tigers comeback falls just short 69-66.
