McPherson, KS – Tigers are unable to hold off the Aggies in a tough home loss.
For the first time this year the Tigers lose back-to-back games and fall to 8-3 (2-2 SAC). After a 2-0 start to conference play, the Pioneers and Aggies hand Tigers 2 home losses.
Tigers would play a solid 35 minutes of basketball tonight, but in the Sooner Athletic Conference you need a full 40 to pull away with a victory. Unfortunately the Tigers had to learn that twice this week and the Aggies would be the most recent example of that for the Tigers.
The first half would be all Tigers as they were taming the scrappy OPSU team and pulled away with a nice 44-34 halftime lead. Tigers would roll on into the 2
nd half still keeping the Aggies at bay and limiting any runs they would go on. Around the 6 minutes mark the Aggies started their comeback and started to get the Tigers to commit turnovers with their press and quickly got the game back to within a possession. The Tigers nightmare's started to happen as they got some unfortunate calls against them and the momentum was shifting to the Aggies. Down the stretch the Tigers wouldn't be able to hold off the Aggie comeback and come away with a loss.
Tigers will be back in action on a make-up game in Bethany, Oklahoma taking on Southwestern Christian University on Monday, February 1
st.
Go Tigers!
