Bellevue, NE - September 28, 2020
Tigers would travel to Nebraska to continue their hot start of the season and extend the streak to 4 games. The Bruins of Bellevue would have a different plan and Tigers would battle injuries and missed opportunities in a tough 3-0 road loss. Tigers would have a rough start to the game having one of their defenders go down in the first half and have to make adjustments to the game plan. Tigers would be able to keep the game a tie at 0-0 going into the half, but Bruins would quickly open up the next half with a goal and never look back.
Despite the loss the Tigers would give it their all considering the circumstances and not go down easily.
Goldie Bougher would have a season high 7 saves including 5 alone in the 2nd half.
Coach Ouren had this to say about the match:
" In spite of the loss KP and I are proud of the girls! We had to make an adjustment late in the first half as
Jordan Meier went down with what will probably be a torn ACL. She is a team leader and an impactful player on the field. In spite of her injury we felt the girls recovered well and continued to compete."
"Overall we were organized throughout the duration of the game with the exception of a few moments and created a number of positive goal scoring opportunities. The score line does not reflect how tight the game really was. We leave Nebraska with genuine disappointment as we felt the game slipped through our hands. We will now look to recover with a little bit of a longer break and set our sights on preparing for OPSU."
Tigers will look to bounce back and get back into the winner's circle as they take a break until October 9, when they host conference opponent OPSU.
Go Tigers!
