Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Lady Tigers continue their offensive spree against the Warriors

McPherson, Kansas – September 24, 2020

After 9 days since their last match, the Lady Tigers were eager to get back on the field, especially after having to postpone their match a few days. The Tigers would dominate their first two performance and wanted to keep that momentum going in today's matchup as they look to extend their win streak to 3 games.

The game would start a bit tight, and this would allow Bacone to have some early chances on goal. Thankfully, the Tigers were able to weather the storm. It may have taken a bit longer than intended, but the Tigers were able to find a rhythm and create some goal opportunities of their own.

Tigers were able to score 5 goals in the first despite the challenges presented by the Warriors. Tigers would however let up their first goal of the year in the 1st half as the Warriors were able to put a damper on the Tigers lead. This wouldn't phase the Tigers too much as their defense was able to keep the Warriors from scoring again. The Tigers offense wouldn't let up either as they would add 4 more goals to their lead to give them a 9-1 victory and 3rd straight victory to start the 2020-2021 season.

"We are challenging the team to play a certain style and we are still going through some growing pains. However, there has been steady improvement and with each game we've been able to gain a little more confidence. While it was not our best game today, we were happy to walk off with everyone receiving quality minutes, injury free and another victory. We will now look to regroup quickly and prepare for former conference opponent, Bellevue."

"I do not believe the score line is a fair reflection on Bacone and the challenges they presented us, specifically Mackenzie Jones. We feel lucky to only give up 1 goal. However, recognition goes to Goldie Bougher who came up with a big save in the 2nd half, Alexa Riddle who scored 6 goals on the day and Lisette Whiteside who really helped calm us down and allow us to gain momentum"

Tigers move to 3-0 and will be back in action against Bellevue University on September 28th.
Go Tigers!
