McPherson, KS – The Central Christian Lady Tiger Basketball Team (0-2) competed for the 3
rd Mayor's Cup between the Tigers and crosstown rival McPherson College Bulldogs.
Tigers would come into this game with history not on their side as the all-time record between the two teams is heavily in the Bulldogs favor (16-2)
The beginning period for the Tigers would spell the makings of upset as the Tigers led most of the period, jumping out to a quick 6-2 lead. The Tigers would hold the Bulldogs to 25% shooting compared to their 30% shooting in the 1
st to help them hold a slim 14-11 lead.
Tigers grinded through period 2 to hold on to their lead. The Tigers and Bulldogs would battle back and forth with multiple lead changes in this period although the Bulldogs would outscore the Tigers 18-16, the Tigers still went into the half with the advantage 30-29.
After half the Tigers came out a little cold and the Bulldogs went on a 12-2 run to take the lead 9. Tigers would have their worst quarter shooting 25% compared to the Bulldogs who would shoot 47 %. The Tigers would be outscored in the quarter 24-10 and have to overcome a 13 point deficit.
The Tigers would have their best offensive period of the game scoring 18 unfortunately, the Bulldogs would continue their impressive shooting going 57% on the period to keep the Tigers at bay. Tigers would go down 77-58 and drop their 2
nd consecutive game at home.

st half. We just need to work on continuing that level of defense even after we pick up fouls."

Tigers will head to Salina, KS to take on the Kansas Wesleyan Coyotes for their next matchup on Saturday, October 31 @ 1:00 PM.
