Kassidy Forsberg shines in today's performance with her first double-double ,but the Central Christian Lady Tigers (0-3) fall to the Coyotes of Kansas Wesleyan (1-2).
Marc Golden, Head Women's Basketball coach said:
"Kansas Wesleyan was well prepared and did a fine job defensively and kept us away from rebounds."
"Our post players, Kassidy, Destiny, and Ariana battle their post players very well, but in the end the rebounding deficit of 19 was too much for us to overcome"
Lady Tigers would get into an early deficit after the 1
st period as the Coyotes would find themselves with a 26-14 lead. Wesleyan would be able to scrap an additional 2 points to their lead going into half up 14 points.
The Tigers would find themselves almost down 20 points, but the Tigers would start to rally against the Coyotes and start to gain some momentum with a few minutes to go in the 3
rd period. Coyotes would start to find their rhythm again to finish off the 3
rd still with a double digit lead (60-48). Coyotes would carry that momentum to the 4
th and outscore the Tigers 17-12 to finish the game 77-60 and the Tigers fall to Wesleyan.
Lady Tigers would have 3 players score in double digits
Kassidy Forsberg would lead the Tigers with 14 points and 11 rebounds giving her first double-double of the season including 3 blocks.Tigers would shoot 37% from the field for the game, but shot 5-of-20 from 3-point range (20%)
The Lady Tigers will be back in action on Monday, November 2
nd when they travel to Wichita, KS to take on Friends University.
