TIGERS WIN IN THRILLING FASHION

McPherson, KS - October 16, 2020
TIGERS WIN IN THRILLING FASHION

Tigers hosted SAC foe USAO Drovers in a conference preview. Coach Ryan Webb and the Lady Tiger Volleyball team are coming off an exciting weekend after they split a triangular match with SCU and MACU. The Ladies were ready to keep the momentum going as they take the Drovers to the 5th set for the first time this season and win in thrilling fashion.

Tigers opened the game nearly flawlessly as they would shut the Drovers down 25-17 to take a quick 1-0 lead. Drovers would answer back with 25-15 win in set 2 to even the score 1-1. Tigers would come out a bit stunned and Drovers would use their momentum and Tigers would go down quietly as Drovers would win easily 25-8 to take a 2-1 lead.

Coach Webb and the Lady Tigers would take a brief halftime and try to gain some traction back into the game. The Tigers would come out a completely different team from the previous 2 sets and begin to work efficiently and effectively. They would win 25-16 to even the game at 2-2 and force a game 5. Tigers and Drover would trade blows to begin the set as they would be locked in at 9 apiece.  Tigers would be able to get a streak going and pull ahead slightly. Drovers would try to make a run of their own, but Tigers would be able to manage and stay locked in as they would finish strongly and take the set 15-12 and game 3-2 to give them their first home victory.

"I was very pleased on the fight that the ladies exhibited tonight against USAO. It could have been very easy to lay down after losing sets 2 & 3, but they flipped a switch to wanting to compete and I am proud of them for that" Tigers improve to 2-9 on the season and will be back in action next week down in Bethany, Oklahoma as they take on Southwestern Christian University.
Go Tigers!
