The Central Christian College men's and women's track and field team is back in action this weekend where the indoor season began in December, and where it will end in March at the NAIA indoor nation meet. The Tigers participating in the 3rd Annual Gorilla Classic, a two day event in Pittsburg, Kansas, hosted by the PSU Gorillas.
In that first meet before Christmas break, the Tigers came out of the blocks and qualified 9 individuals for the NAIA indoor national meet to be held the first weekend in March. Since that meet, they have pushed that number up to 14.
According to Central head coach, Mike Anderson, he rested his top runners on both teams last week at the Cavalier Relays hosted by Johnson County Community College, to get them rested up for this weekend's meet at Pitt State. With that week off, he is expecting to see good results at this meet.
Joining the Tigers at the meet this weekend will be a mixture of NCAA DII, JUCO, and NAIA Schools. The prelims get underway today at 12:00 and you can follow the results live online at http://www.midwesttiming.com/.
