Joey is entering into his 3rd year at CCCK as the Head Baseball Coach. He is originally from Tucson, Arizona and played baseball as a pitcher at East Central University from 2008-2013. During his playing career, Joey served as a SAAC leader for two years and received the GAC Scholar Award. He earned an Associate of Science Degree from Pima Community College in 2010, a Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics from East Central University in 2013, and a Master's Degree in Higher Education from Iowa State University in 2015. Joey is also CPR certified.
Before coming to Central Christian, Joey served as a Graduate Assistant and head coach at Iowa Lakes Community College, pitching coach at Bryan College, and assistant coach at the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma. Since arriving at Central, Joey has led the baseball program to numerous accomplishments, including the most wins in a season at Central since 2010, the most SAC conference wins in a season, and the first time hosting the SAC Tournament in school history. The program has also earned back-to-back Freshman of the Year awards and series wins over five different SAC schools.
Joey lives with his wife, Haley, their daughter, Audrey, and son, Aiden. They attend Galva Christian Church. In his free time, Joey enjoys recruiting.
