Central Christian College of Kansas

Coach Robert Lancaster is entering his first year at Central Christian as the head women's basketball coach. Lancaster previously coached high school girls and boys basketball for 10 years in Oklahoma and Colorado. Coach Lancaster grew up in Blanchard, Oklahoma where he graduated high school in 1992. Following high school, Lancaster received his undergraduate degree in history from East Central University in Ada. After college, Coach Lancaster went to work at Focus on the Family a Christian ministry in located in Colorado Springs. While in Colorado Lancaster finished his master's degree in education leadership from Regis University. Lancaster has plans to start his doctorate work in the near future. Lancaster says the thing that has impresses him the most about Central Christian is, "the atmosphere and vision of the college. It is amazing the vision that everyone hear at Central has towards promoting Christ in all aspects of life." Coach Lancaster is excited to continue the tradition that Central Christian has in women's basketball, but also equally excited to add a new chapter to the program. "Central is a place that God will raise up young people to go out and be leaders in their community. I am eagerly anticipating to see what God is going to do in the women's basketball program and for the success that will permeate into each young lady's life. On and off of the floor we will seek to achieve all that God has called us to." Coach Lancaster promotes a family environment for the basketball team and is excited to lead the team in weekly bible studies and team activities. "My wife Tara and I, along with our four children Asa, Annalyn, Asher, and Raley love the opportunities of investment we have within the women's program. It is awesome to be a part of something bigger than yourself, knowing you are just a small piece of a much larger puzzle." The Lady Tigers emphasize teamwork, commitment, execution, and discipline as their primary philosophy. Plus Lancaster added, "we look to get after people, we want to be aggressive on both ends of the floor. On offense we want to push the ball and execute consistently. Defensively our philosophy is simply chaos. The more the better." Coach Lancaster is also a professor at the College teaching full-time in various fields. He and his wife homeschool their four children and enjoy the McPherson community very much. "The hospitality at Central has been awesome, I am grateful to President Hoxie, along with countless others at the college, who have displayed great faith and trust in me. To be apart of such and exciting time at Central is amazing. The ability to see true servant leadership at its finest is inspiring and refreshing. I am simply humbled by God." Jeremiah 29:11-13 "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. ¹² Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. ¹³ You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart."
