Matthew Malone

Matt Malone is entering his sixth season as Assistant Men’s Soccer Coach for the Tiger’s program. In the past four seasons Coach Malone has had the opportunity to primarily manage the development squad and prepare the younger Tigers for success with the first team. Coach Malone also assists Coach Hoxie with the first team in training, game day preparations, and game management.

The 2022 season is going to be full of chances for this group of players. Coach Malone commented, “The experience our young, talented team accrued during the highs and lows of last season is going to massively benefit them as we look to reach and accomplish some big goals this year.  The combination of experienced players and fresh faces on this year’s roster is going to give us a great opportunity to compete at a high level in first team as well as reserve matches. With the quality of leadership depth on this roster, I am very excited to see the growth of these players on and off the field.”
Matt Malone played for Coach Hoxie for all four of his collegiate seasons, captaining the squad in his senior season, and experienced post-season play in three out of his four years as a Tiger. “It is a privilege to be able to give back to the same program that taught me so much about the game and helped to shape me into the man I am today.”

Matt is married to his wife Shannon, who was a standout player for the Tigers Women’s Soccer team during her time at the college, and they live locally with their two dogs.  He works as the Institutional Effectiveness Analyst for the college and is working towards his Master’s degree in Strategic Leadership.  He and his wife currently attend McPherson Free Methodist church.
